the del Ray is right in the middle of “Desert Wine Country”. There are over 30 wineries in the Greater Okanagan Valley and the del Ray is within a leisurely 60 minute drive of over half of them. The area’s “desert” climate of warm days and cool nights provide the perfect weather for grape growing and vineyards are plentiful here. The South Okanagan’s small geographical area produces 49% of the grapes used in making British Columbia’s award winning wines. |

|
Many of these wineries / vineyards offer self-guided or fully guided
tours of their facilities and share information about the art of making
award winning wines. Several have gift shops and tasting rooms. Desert Country Wine Tours – 498-7316; conducts round trip tours from Osoyoos BC 7 days a week |
